Colors and Care
Most of the yarns on Whitknits.com are hand dyed. One characteristic of hand-dyed yarns are the color variations which occur from skein to skein, even skeins of the same dye lot. Some manufacturers don't even use dye lots. Pictures on the website are representative of the yarn's color and are not the exact skeins you will receive. Please expect some variation and recognize that the beauty of these yarns is that they show the maker's hand. Also, differences in monitor settings may further effect how the colors look to you.
Some hand dyed yarns or colors are known to bleed upon wetting. This is especially true of intense colors. If you have a multicolored project, it is always a good idea to take precautions. Both kosher salt or white vinegar are known to set colors and I alway add one to the blocking bath. A quick google search will give you lots of resources for how to prevent colors from bleeding.
